Best Father’s Day Gift: Health

Men’s Health

It’s that time of year again – we break out the barbeques, we giftwrap ties and golf clubs, and we celebrate our fathers and our father figures. As a father of two little ones, one of the best things I can do for my family is to be proactive about my health. Here are my guidelines for staying healthy:

  • Check your cholesterol every five years, more frequently if you have a family history of high cholesterol.

  • Control your blood pressure and cholesterol, if they’re high.

  • If you smoke, please stop.

  • Increase your physical activity level to 30 minutes per day, most days of the week.

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables and less saturated or trans- fats. Limit your refined sugar intake.

  • Get regular chiropractic adjustments.

Maintaining your health is a wonderful way to show the people around you how much you care about them. To all of the fathers and father figures out there, have a happy and healthy Father’s Day!

Yours in good health,

Dr. Robert Koch
